Bedrooms

Bedrooms are arranged over three floors and vary in size. The home offers both single and double rooms and may accommodate a husband and wife moving in together. Every room has an en-suite toilet, central heating and a nurse-call alarm. Telephone and television points can be made available on request.

Depending on their position, rooms have north-, south-, east- or west-facing windows, with some enjoying extensive views across Northam Burrows and Bideford Bay.

Lounges, activities and communal rooms

The size and number of communal rooms provide plenty of space for residents to relax, spend time with others or enjoy quieter moments. The ground floor includes two sitting lounges, a large activities room and a television lounge area where residents can enjoy films. The activities room is used for a varied programme that may include arts and crafts, singing, puzzles, quizzes and entertainment. Nurse-call and nearby toilet facilities are available.

Gardens and outdoor space

Residents can enjoy the courtyard, courtyard garden and rose garden when the weather is suitable.

Accessible bathing

Two bathrooms are located on the first floor. The main bathroom is adapted for different mobility needs and provides a chairlift bath and a level-access wet-room shower. A second bathroom also includes a bath with a chairlift.

Other facilities

Laundry is managed in-house with cleanliness and infection control procedures. A passenger lift serves all floors and can accommodate wheelchairs and trolleys.

The home has a fire alarm system, smoke detectors, alarm points and regularly serviced firefighting equipment. Staff receive fire safety training and drills are carried out.
